COLE'S DRILLING
COILED TUBING INSERTION UNIT
The Coil Tubing Insertion Unit (CTIU) is a necessary drilling accessary machine that uses coiled tubing to insert loops into pre-drilled holes. Upon completion of drilling, the CTIU is positioned to set the loop on entry and grout the hole from the base to the surface upon the return of the coiled tubing. The tubing serves as a tremie pipe through which grout is pumped. This ensures that grouting is consistent from base to surface providing the greatest heat transfer possible. This allows for many advantages to individual users as well as total production. It saves time by allowing loop placement and grouting simultaneously while allowing the drilling rig to progress to the next hole. Furthermore, it allows for smaller drill hole diameters (Has achieved the following: 3 7/8” drill bit to depth of 400’ to set a 1 1/4” loop with 3 3/4” U-bend). These smaller holes require less costly drill bits and faster drilling times. It reduces overall production costs by decreasing total grout material, disposal of cuttings and drilling fluids, and man power required to complete and set loops. This single operator machine provides great advantages to any commercial/residential drilling operation.

LOOP SETTING
This video is a brief demonstration of the CTU's loop setting capabilities. In this video, our Coiled Tubing Unit (CTU) is setting 625ft of 1 1/4 inch pipe. This process is very efficient only taking 8 minutes from removal of drilling rig to touch down at the end of the hole. Coiled tubing retraction and removal of unit from location took 7mins and 53 sec.
FULL SETTING AND GROUTING
This video show an entire loop setting and grouting by our Coiled Tubing Insertion Unit. This is a 3 7/8" hole setting a 1 1/4" loop to a depth of 220 ft.
